DFIP Spotlight: Improving the Handling of Community Fund Proposals (CFPs)

Image
The DeFiChain community has proposed a significant improvement aimed at bolstering transparency, accountability, and integrity in handling Community Fund Proposals (CFPs).  This latest DeFiChain Improvement Proposal (DFIP) introduces structural adjustments designed to align CFP standards with those of DFIPs, reflecting a mature and responsible approach toward decentralized governance. Raising the Bar for Governance Currently, CFPs only require a 50% approval rate from Masternodes (MN), creating inconsistencies and potential vulnerabilities in fund allocations. This new DFIP proposes to elevate the approval threshold to 66.67%, harmonizing it with existing DFIP standards. Such a change ensures that only proposals with broad and solid community support receive funding, safeguarding against insufficiently vetted projects. Structured Milestone-Based Payments A cornerstone of the new DFIP is introducing structured payout models. Any CFP requesting more than $3,000 must establish tranche...

CFP Spotlight: Provision of Oracles for DeFiChain

Image
DeFiChain is advancing towards greater stability, security, and reliability through a Community Fund Proposal (CFP), which aims to sustain and enhance oracle services. Oracles play a vital role by delivering accurate, real-time price data to the DeFiChain ecosystem, powering decentralized financial applications. Why is the Oracle Infrastructure Essential? Accurate price information forms the backbone of decentralized financial services such as lending, swaps, and dToken trading. Currently, DeFiChain relies on external oracles to provide these price feeds, which require robust infrastructure to operate effectively. However, running oracles incurs substantial ongoing costs, including: Server hosting and infrastructure maintenance Access to external data sources (like Binance, CoinGecko) Constant monitoring and maintenance Implementation of robust security and redundancy measures How Will This CFP Enhance Oracle Operations? This Oracle CFP seeks to establish a sustainable funding model th...

CFP Spotlight: DeFiChain Labs' Request For Developer Resources

Image
Following the successful funding of its initial proposal, DeFiChain Labs has identified the need for specialized technical expertise to address potential blockchain related issues. To ensure the continued stability and efficiency of the network, the team is now seeking additional funding over 1.85M DFI to secure these critical developer resources. Addressing Critical Technical Issues The proposal aims to secure technical expertise to address potential issues that may arise, such as Ocean Network downtimes, cloud infrastructure disruptions, and other critical challenges affecting DeFiChain’s operational efficiency. Key areas of focus include: Ocean Network Downtime: Ensuring continuous uptime and mitigating disruptions that impact user experience and DeFi operations. CFP Spotlight: Ensuring Maintenance & Compliance of Light Wallet App Store Listings

Image
In today’s fast-paced digital economy, maintaining a strong mobile presence is essential. For DeFiChain, ensuring that its Light Wallet app remains available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store is a strategic priority. But without dedicated resources, the app risks falling behind, losing traction, or worse—being delisted. This Community Fund Proposal lays out a clear plan to protect DeFiChain’s mobile footprint and keep it accessible to users worldwide. The Problem: A Complex and Continuous Challenge Maintaining a presence on app stores is not a one-time effort; it demands continuous updates, compliance with ever-changing policies, and a strategic approach to optimization. Without the necessary resources, DeFiChain’s app risks delisting, decreased visibility, and failure to meet user expectations. Furthermore, developer accounts on major app stores require a legally registered entity, which is essential for compliance with tax and regulatory obligations. The Solution: A Dedic...

CFP Spotlight: AI Meets DeFiChain – A Smarter Future for Onboarding and Education

Image
DeFiChain continues to attract interest, yet many newcomers face difficulties in accessing well-structured, up-to-date information about its products, governance, staking, and liquidity pools. To bridge this gap, the community is proposing a revolutionary AI-powered chatbot—a knowledge hub designed to streamline onboarding and education. The Problem: Information Fragmentation DeFiChain boasts a vibrant and active community, but its knowledge base is scattered across numerous platforms—official documentation, GitHub, Telegram, Discord, YouTube, and community-driven forums. While this abundance of information showcases the project’s dynamism, it also creates unnecessary barriers: High entry costs for new users unfamiliar with DeFiChain’s ecosystem. Time-intensive support needs for existing community members and moderators. Information silos that make it difficult for users to stay updated with best practices and ecosystem changes. Without a structured knowledge access point, the DeFiChai...
