High APRs on Stocks are Coming to DeFiChain

Image
The last couple of weeks have been one of the busiest for the whole DeFiChain team – everyone has been seriously hard at work to deliver one of the most anticipated new product launches in DeFiChain’s recent history. This is supported by a recent study, conducted by leading research agency Santiment, showing that DeFiChain’s development efforts have outpaced the likes of Uniswap and other DeFi industry heavyweights. Understandably, everyone is eagerly waiting for the next big release — the Fort Canning update. With the update, DeFiChain users will be able to trade stocks, commodities and precious metals in a truly decentralized way. A novel approach, where the price of the underlying asset is tracked by synthetic asset tokens, is paving the way for worldwide accessibility, adoption and a new 24/7 trading experience. What does this mean for the DFI price? Flashback to October 2020 when the overall situation looked about the same as right now: The integration of Liquidity Mining for Bitc...

An Intro Into The Foundational Concepts of Decentralized Loans on DeFiChain

Image
Our much anticipated upgrade after Eunos Paya, which will be named Fort Canning, will not only bring decentralized loans to DeFiChain, but it will also facilitate the integration of many more products and services, offering a totally new playground for DeFiChain users. Decentralized loans are without a doubt the most anticipated new implementation of the Fort Canning update. These loan mechanism have the potential to facilitate more than the conventional loans you may be familiar with. They will not only power loan issuance in US-Dollars (similar to how it would work with your local bank), but they will also form a key foundation layer in the DeFiChain decentralized tokenization of stocks. In the following article, we take a closer look into the conceptualization of decentralized loans on DeFiChain. We will start by outlining the architectural foundation on the DeFiChain blockchain underpinning the entire construct, before diving deeper into each of the integral parts needed to build t...

DeFiChain Transitions Into a DAO

Image
In the early days of blockchain development, there wasn’t clear direction in what projects were looking to build and how they would go about achieving their goals. On top of that, in many cases, we did not know who was behind these projects, and we certainly didn’t know the core values and the mission behind them. Transparency and communication were rarely focal points resulting in more questions about certain projects than answers. Today, all of this has changed! New projects like DeFiChain hold itself to a higher standard. Transparency is not only important, it’s an absolute necessity, and it draws the line around what could be a successful, or an unsuccessful project. As a result, DeFiChain not only embraces open communication, but has always been fully committed to providing and upholding transparency. For DeFiChain, taking transparency seriously means being as open and as honest as possible with the community, especially on the key initiatives that drive further decentralization o...

Our Bug Bounty program underscores our values and serves our mission in becoming the most trusted and transparent blockchain protocol that enables DeFi functionalities for the bitcoin blockchain. DeFiChain’s bug bounty program awards up to US$ 50,000 in DFI for vulnerabilities in the DeFiChain code. How to participate There are many ways to join the program to help find and identify vulnerabilities in the DeFiChain code. You can start by connecting to the DeFiChain testnet by running defid -testnet. Alternatively, you could also study our source code at GitHub. If you find a bug through interacting with our program and/or studying our source code, we can offer a bug bounty reward of up to USD 50,000 worth of DFI, provided that the issue is deemed significant, and you are able to provide useful info in reg...

DeFiChain's July Blockbuster Launches Will Make it the Hottest Month Ever!

Image
The second quarter is ending and DeFiChain is in preperation for a series of new product and service launches, making it one of the hottest months since the project’s inception. Without our amazing engineering team, who have worked relentlessly to follow through on our promise to enable Defi for Bitcoin, all this would not have been possible. With DeFiChain’s synthetic products, we are not only pushing the boundaries of #nativedefi even further, but it will also be a totally different way to approach decentralized stock trading compared to the way it’s currently done. This coupled with our push to bring DeFiChain’s governance onto the blockchain, will further decentralize the project and it will also make it more autonomous. In the infographic below, you’ll find a quick overview about our upcoming launches and decentralized applications we are about to roll out in July. If you’d like to delve into more details, we kindly ask you to click on the respective links in the infographic. roll...
