The Multichain Variants of $DFI: What You Need to Know

Image
The blockchain landscape is evolving. Similar to how the Internet evolved from isolated networks into a seamless, interconnected ecosystem, blockchain is undergoing its own shift. This transformation will make blockchain technology more approachable and user-friendly, particularly for those new to the space.  At present, decentralized applications (DApps) can be complicated and costly, preventing their widespread adoption.  However, the advent of multichain technologies is reshaping the narrative by enabling seamless interoperability across multiple blockchains. In this blog post, you’ll learn about the multichain variants of $DFI, highlighting their unique characteristics and the seamless interoperability that allows users to transfer value across the DeFiChain ecosystem. The Future is Multi-Chain: DeFiChain's Interoperable Blockchain Ecosystem Interoperability has long been a holy grail for blockchain technology. No single chain can be a one-size-fits-all solution. The futur...

DeFiChain Implements New Hardfork Schedule for More Predictability

Image
DeFiChain, the leading decentralized finance blockchain platform, has announced a new hardfork schedule that will improve predictability and planning for developers, projects, and the broader ecosystem. DeFiChain will implement hardforks every three months at the latest, starting from the end of March/early April 2024. This new cadence replaces the previous ad hoc approach to software updates and protocol changes. The key reason behind this shift is to provide more determinism and help different parties better plan their time around hardforks, especially for projects built around the DeFiChain protocol. By having a consistent, pre-scheduled timeline for major upgrades, developers can align their roadmaps, allocate resources accordingly, and ensure their projects remain compatible with the latest version of the DeFiChain blockchain. The first hardfork under the new schedule is expected to include the following key updates: Support for Stock Splits: Native support on-chain for stock spli...

WebAssembly: The Game-Changer for Blockchain Performance and Flexibility

Image
A foundation of the Web3 space is the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) — the virtual machine that powers Ethereum as well as DeFiChain’s Metachain layer.  While the EVM has proven its effectiveness, the industry is now evolving beyond it, welcoming a new player that promises to push the boundaries even further: WebAssembly (WASM). In this article, we'll dive into the world of WebAssembly, exploring what it is, how it works, and its implications for the cryptocurrency industry. We'll uncover the ways in which WASM is poised to revolutionize the blockchain landscape and in particular make it easier for developers to engage with upcoming ecosystems like DeFiChain’s Metachain layer, ushering in a new era of performance, security, and cross-platform compatibility. What is WASM (WebAssembly)? WebAssembly is a new type of computer code that can run extremely fast and efficiently across different devices and platforms. It's like a universal language that computers can understand and ...
