Update on DeFiChain Android Wallet Transition

Over the past several weeks, the DeFiChain Labs team has engaged extensively with the DeFiChain core developers to regain access to the Google developer account, crucial for managing and maintaining the Android Light Wallet app. This account is essential not only for updates but also for securely transitioning the app's management to a new team.

Despite diligent efforts, the recovery of login credentials has proven challenging. The urgency arises because the Google account must be verified by 27 May, and only the original account holder can complete this verification and transfer the account.

Should recovery efforts ultimately fail, the community must be aware and prepared that maintaining the Android Light Wallet's availability and functionality will likely require an alternative approach. This alternative – similar to approaches taken by others like e.g. FTX in the past – would involve forking the current Light Wallet app.

This scenario, though not our initial preference, represents a pragmatic and well-established method to ensure continuity and reliability of service for DeFiChain users. The decision to pursue this route will hinge on the outcomes of our ongoing recovery efforts.
