September Network Upgrade Window
After a slight delay from the initially planned June window, the team has set its sights on a September network upgrade. This extended timeline allows for thorough testing and implementation of critical features:
- Calculated Owner Awards: This long-awaited feature is ready for implementation, promising to streamline reward distribution within the ecosystem.
- Faster Block Time: In a thoughtful approach to network scalability, the team has parameterized block time adjustments. This allows for gradual speed increases based on infrastructure performance, ensuring stability as the network grows.
- UTXO Staking Rewards: Another significant update slated for the September window, enhancing the staking mechanism on DeFiChain.
The team emphasized that the window for additional implementations remains open for the next few weeks, inviting community developers to propose and discuss potential features for inclusion.
Operational Updates
On the operational front, several noteworthy developments were shared:
- Token and Pool Integration: All planned tokens and pools have been successfully integrated into the ecosystem.
- Microstrategy Token Split: Preparations are underway for a Microstrategy token split in early August. To mitigate potential network slowdowns, the team is pre-preparing snapshots to optimize reward calculations.
- Ocean Integration: The highly anticipated Ocean API integration is nearing completion. The team plans to conduct extensive testing, including A/B comparisons, to ensure seamless compatibility before full deployment.
