DeFiChain Labs is Seeking New Owners For Socials
Following up on our recent announcement about the infrastructure transition, we need to address another important aspect of our operations that requires new stewardship: our social media accounts and blog management.
As we mentioned in our previous post, the funding we received through the CFPs has been exhausted. This affects not just our infrastructure services, but also our ability to continue managing DeFiChain's official communication channels.
What we're looking to hand over
We've been managing several key communication assets for the DeFiChain community, and we need trusted hands to take them forward:
- Social Media Management: Our official Twitter/X, Discord, Telegram and Reddit account that serve as the primary voice of DeFiChain to the broader crypto community.
- Blog Content Creation: The official DeFiChain blog where we share updates, technical insights, ecosystem developments, and community news.
- Website Domain Hosting
The reality of ongoing costs
Here's something many people don't realize: these services aren't free to maintain.
There are monthly hosting fees for the blog and website, costs associated with maintaining verified social media accounts, premium social media management tools, and various other expenses that add up over time.
When we took on these responsibilities, we factored these costs into our CFP budget. Now that our "funding period" is ending, whoever takes over will need to account for these ongoing expenses in their own funding proposals or operational budgets.
We're talking about costs for domain hosting, content management systems, social media verification fees, analytics tools, and security services. It's not just about creating content - it's about maintaining the entire digital infrastructure that supports DeFiChain's public presence.
What we need from a successor
We're looking for a trusted entity within the DeFiChain ecosystem who understands the importance of consistent, quality communication. This isn't just about posting updates - it's about being the voice of DeFiChain to thousands of community members and potential new users.
The ideal entity should have experience with social media management, content creation, and basic website maintenance. They should understand DeFiChain's technology and community well enough to communicate effectively about complex topics in accessible ways.
Most importantly, they need to be financially prepared for the ongoing costs and either have their own funding secured or be ready to submit CFP proposals to cover these expenses.
Timeline and next steps
We need to make this transition happen within the next few weeks. Just like with our infrastructure handover, we want to ensure there's no disruption to the community's access to official information and updates.
If you represent an organization or group within the DeFiChain ecosystem that could take on these responsibilities, please reach out to us through our usual channels. We're happy to discuss the specifics, share access details, and help with a smooth transition process.
The DeFiChain community deserves consistent, professional communication across all channels. We're confident there are capable hands in our ecosystem ready to take on this important role and keep our community informed and engaged.
